Please tell us a little about yourself:
Dhan Tamang is the UK Latte Art Champion of 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 & 2018 as well as a finalist at 2016 World Latte Art Championship. He is also a co-founder of Coffee Lab UK (now has 8 branches), along with offering home & professional barista & latte art courses from basic to advanced level. He is a world-renowned latte artist, particularly known for use of colours in latte art. Prior to starting his own business, Dhan spent 9 years working in a different coffee shop as a barista and branch manager. His book “Coffee Art” was published by Octopus Publishing Group in 28 September 2017, and can be found in different languages such as English, Chinese, French, German, Hungarian & Dutch. His book specialises in directing home baristas to learn different and incredible latte art patterns, from basic to very sophisticated, through the help of step-by-step instructions.
How did you get started in coffee?:
Since I was kid I always wanted to do something different than my friends and family, so I decided to be a barista.

What are you excited to do while you are in Brazil?:
Meeting all the coffee lovers and friends from different countries.
What is the most unusual vessel you have poured latte art into?:
Probably milk in a lid.
What is your secret to making great latte art?:
Hard work, self belief, and enjoyment.
What are your interests outside of coffee?:
Football is the biggest interest of mine after coffee.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?:
I would love to see myself sharing my knowledge with the world of coffee, because it’s beautiful.
