Please tell us a little about yourself:

First through a friend, who was very excited about Italian espresso, with sugar ;)  I had a feeling that there must be more behind it. I ended up in Specialty Coffee by applying for a part time job at Kaffee Alchemie—I learned more and loved it!

How did you get started in coffee?:

2015 Austrian Brewers Cup – 3rd Place
2016 Austrian Brewers Cup – 5th Place
2017 Austrian Brewers Cup 2017 – Disqualified for a technical error
2018 Austrian Brewers Cup Champion

Please list the coffee competitions you have participated in, what year they took place, and your results:

Taking time off to explore the country and it’s (coffee) places.

What are you excited to do while you are in Brazil?:

Maybe not the first but one of them: very busy day at the Café, barely time for my own cup of coffee. We got this new coffee from Ethiopia in store which I hadn’t managed to try during the day. Just before closing I half-heartedly brewed myself a cup and walked outside the door to take a break— it was a cold and wet day. I moved the cup towards my nose, and I had this coffee moment when suddenly I understood what people meant, talking about jasmine and florals in Ethiopian coffees :)

What is your favorite coffee to cup?:

V60—even extractions, clean cups.

Is there anyone you would like to thank or recognize, or who helped you to prepare for the competition?:

Laura, for make me apply for the job in the first place. Friends, colleagues, and regular customers who have always been very supportive, helpful, and motivating! John and Andi, for getting me into this whole thing from the very beginning! And for just being there, always!!
