Please tell us a little about yourself:

I’ve been a barista since 2012, and am competing since 2012. I am a bartender intern at Fourplay Cousine. I grew up and am still based in Taipei, Taiwan. I’m a coffee-holic, player in a band, and a café racer!

How did you get started in coffee?:

When I was 21 I started to learn about coffee while figuring out what I wanted to do and who I want to be. When I was 24 I finally knew that I’d like to be one of the best baristas in the world, so I started working hard ever since then! :)

Please list the coffee competitions you have participated in, what year they took place, and your results:

2019 Taiwan Coffee in Good Spirits Champion
2016 Taiwan Barista Championship 5th
2015 Taiwan Barista Championship 6th
2012 Taiwan Barista Championship – highest score in Final

What are you excited to do in Berlin?:

Competing!!!!! :D
Celebrating my birthday!! (6/6)

What was your first amazing experience with coffee?:

A cup of espresso made by myself in 2012, with Kenya and Burundi coffee, which may not be tasty but let me make up my mind to become a great barista.

Besides your own competition drink, do you have a favorite cocktail?:

Anything made with gin. I’m a gin man actually.

What coffee-producing country interests or excites you most?:

Ethiopia no doubt. My first cup of specialty coffee was made with Ethiopian coffee. That was the beginning of my coffee life.

What are your interests outside of coffee?:

Music, motorbikes, dance, food & drink, travel, and sharing my knowledge!! :)

Where do you see yourself in five years?:

I hope to be an ambassador of specialty coffee. I also hope to have a coffee business with my partners, while travelling around the world and share something positive, like coffee! :)

Is there anyone you would like to thank or recognize, or who helped you to prepare for the WCIGS?:

My girlfriend, Natalie.
My parents.
My coaches, Allen in coffee, and another Allen in cocktails.
My roaster, Yuing.
All of my friends and mentors who’ve supported me in my coffee life.
Everyone who has cheered me up, encouraged me, and pushed me further.
I love you all from the bottom of my heart. Thank you guys!
