Please tell us a little about yourself:

I have been working in specialty coffee for 11 years now. I am co-owner of ALT WIEN KAFFEE. It’s a small roastery in Vienna, Austria (170 tons this year), with a wide range of commercial and also rare specialty coffees. Aside from sourcing the coffee, QC and key account handling, I am designing the roast profiles we are using on our Loring. In May I will be doing my Q-Grader course with Mike Riley. In my spare time, I have a family. And I drink coffee.

How did you get started in coffee?:

I was a customer of the small coffee shop I later became a partner in.

Please list the coffee competitions you have participated in, what year they took place, and your results:

Austrian National Cup Tasters 2018 (did not make the final)
Austrian Brewer’s Cup 2019 (7th)

Um? Coffee?

What is your favourite coffee to cup?:

Today (and yes it changes daily), it is a twice anaerobically fermented Castillo from Samuel Bermudez, Piendamo, Cauca in Colombia. V60, full fruit explosion.

What are your interests outside of coffee?:

Um? There are things outside coffee?

Where do you see yourself in five years?:

Is there anyone you would like to thank or recognize, or who helped you to prepare for the WCTC?:
