Please tell us a little about yourself:

My name is Gabriel, I’m 26 years old and I work as a coffee creative at Pacamara Coffee Roasters. The I think Brewers Cup competition is a way to improve for a better version of myself. I love filter coffee, not only as a beverage, but more like a path of life.

Please list the coffee competitions you have participated in, what year they took place, and your results:

2015 Romania Brewers Cup – 4th Place
2016 Romania Brewers Cup – Disqualified for technical error
2017 Romania Brewers Cup – 1st Place
2017 World Brewers Cup 2017 – 17th Place, Round One
2018 Romania Brewers Cup 2018 – 1st Place

What are you excited to do while you are in Brazil?:

Mainly competing in the World Brewers Cup.

What was your first amazing experience with coffee?:

My first amazing experience was back in 2013-2014 I think, when I was going to have a coffee in a small coffee shop where the barista was Alexandru Niculae, who brewed a v60 from Jamaica Blue Mountain.

What is your favorite coffee brewing method and why?:

My personal favorite brewing device is V60, for producing more clarity and flavour in the cup.

What coffee-producing country most interests or excites you?:

I’m a big fan of Kenya, but i like also coffees from Ethiopia, Panama, or El Salvador.

What are your interests outside of coffee?:

Basketball.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?:

Hopefully running my own coffee shop.

Is there anyone you would like to thank or recognize, or who helped you to prepare for the competition?:

First of all for all the support and trust, I’d like to thanks Mr. Chartree Treelertkul. To Tanawat Janyuutdiskul, to my friend Alexandru Niculae, to Tetsu Kasuya, and to all friends who’ve supported and cheered for me.
