Please tell us a little about yourself:
I have been in the coffee industry for 13 years, and started as a coffee sales rep before moving into espresso machine maintenance, becoming a café and roastery owner, and now an AST roast trainer.
How did you get started in coffee?:
I fell in love with coffee in 2004 in Wellington NZ and have been hooked ever since.
Please list the coffee competitions you have participated in, what year they took place, and your results:
2012 WCTC Austria – 5th Place
2015 WCTC Sweden – 24th Place, Round One
2016 WCTC 2016 China – 2nd Place, Round One
What are you excited to do while you are in Brazil?:
I’m excited to experience the local culture.
What is your favorite coffee to cup?:
I just love cupping coffee, and don’t really have a favorite.
What are your interests outside of coffee?:
Surfing and CrossFit.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?:
I would love to be more involved in roast and sensory training and consulting.
Is there anyone you would like to thank or recognize, or who helped you to prepare for the competition?:
I would like to thank my wife who has supported my dreams and career without her I would not be where I am today.
