Mogiana Assessoria – Pedregulho

Please tell us a little about yourself:

I’m from a small city in the northeast of São Paulo called Pedregulho—a very traditional coffee producing region. I’m cup coffee to give feedback to the producers so they know the quality of their coffees.

How did you get started in coffee?:

I started five years as an auxiliary in small coffee company that trades coffee on the domestic market in Brazil. From that moment I knew that coffee was my passion, so I started to take several course to learn how to cup coffee. For the last three years I have been participating as a National Judge in Cup of Excellence – Brazil. Last year, I was also part of the international jury, which in my opinion is one the best ways to improve cupping skills.

Please list the coffee competitions you have participated in, what year they took place, and your results:

This was the first time I participated in a coffee competition.

What is your favorite coffee to cup?:

Alta Mogiana Natural coffees. Very sweet, balanced acidity, and creamy body, brewed in a V60.

What are your interests outside of coffee?:

Craft beer, and playing soccer with my friends.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?:

I want to improve my coffee skills as much as I can. Also, I would love to be working in a big trading company.

Is there anyone you would like to thank or recognize, or who helped you to prepare for the competition?:

Julio Ferreira, my great friend and mentor, the Specialty Coffee Association of Alta Mogiana, who have always helped in every step of the way. Also, my family, who’ve supported me to achieve my goals.
