Flow Specialty Coffee Bar & Bistro
Please tell us a little about yourself:
My name is Attila Németh. I am 29 years old. I have been working as a barista for 4 years. This short time has been very intense for me. I have been at nearly all cupping events in Budapest, and worked in roastery part time. I currently work in Flow Speciality Coffee Bar.
How did you get started in coffee?:
After I tasted an Yirgacheffe Ethiopian filter coffee, I couldn’t believe how it is possible to taste peach aromas in coffee. I wanted to learn more about growing, processing, roasting, and brewing. I went to a barista school and then began to work in a speciality coffeeshop.
Please list the coffee competitions you have participated in, what year they took place, and your results:
2017 Hungarian Cup Tasters Championship 4th place
2019 Hungarian Cup Tasters Championship 1st place
2019 Hungarian Brewers Cup 2nd place
What are you excited to do in Berlin?:
I would like to explore marketplaces and restaurants.
What is your favourite coffee to cup?:
Sweet, complex, floral, and fruity cups are always pleasure to me.
What are your interests outside of coffee?:
High-end audio systems, jazz music, concert halls, Formula 1.
Where do you see yourself in five years?:
I would like to work as a green coffee buyer and/or quality controller.
Is there anyone you would like to thank or recognize, or who helped you to prepare for the WCTC?:
First of all I would like to thank my girlfriend who is supporting me with all of her strength. To Casino Mocca and Flow Speciality Coffee Bar & Bistro, for giving me the opportunity and space to practice. I’d also like to thank my colleagues and friends as well.
