Judge Certification Workshops
World Coffee Events (WCE) invites members of the specialty coffee community to participate in the newly expanded WCE Judge Certification Workshops (JCW). Participants in the 2011-12 WCE Judge Certification Workshops will have an unprecedented opportunity to qualify as a judge for four new competitions, as well as the World Barista Championship (WBC). Qualified participants will be authorized to judge at the WBC, World Latte Art Championship, World Brewers Cup, World Coffee in Good Spirits Championship, Cezve/Ibrik Championship, and to promote this achievement to the specialty coffee community throughout the year.
The skills and commitment to excellence required to qualify as a judge in the WCE Competitions are an essential component to WCE’s continued ability to deliver fair and professional events that elevate the barista craft and support the mission of specialty coffee. At the two-day Judge Certification Workshops, WCE Committee Leadership will guide participants through a series of performance-based and written tests that measure judges’ abilities to perform successfully in a WCE Competition.
